Emily NewmannEmily Newmann is a licensed therapist and an artist.  She received her MSW at Hunter College School of Social Work in 1999, and in 2011 completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Expressive Therapy from Lesley University Graduate School of Arts and Sciences.  Newmann has presented Nationally on the use of expressive art as a therapeutic tool for working with groups, and has published articles on the use of activity in group work.  She is a printmaker and has shown her work in both solo and group shows.  Newmann has been using expressive art with her clients for years, as it has been another avenue for emotional self-expression and healing.  She currently runs two expressive writing groups for people who are grieving at The Wellness Room in Newton, MA.  Newmann currently works with artist Deborah Putnoi facilitating “Art and Healing Nights” for people who are grieving, at ArtHeads Studio, in Brighton MA.
